The Canada Day Celebration in Thunder Bay was like no other. Can you imagine over 140 people practicing Tai Chi at the lakeshore in front of the Sleeping Giant, celebrating this most important date of our nation? The World Tai Chi and Qigong Day (WTCQGD) will be held on Saturday, April 28 2007, worldwide. Tat Lui and his students are planning some public activities to mark this occasion.
WTCQGD entails Tai Chi and Qigong groups gathering at 10 AM local time to exhibit Tai Chi and Qigong to the world. In the words of WTCQGD founder, Bill Douglas, the purposes of staging this historic event is:
1) To educate the world (to the profound implications of Tai Chi and Qigong)
2) To thank the Chinese culture
3) To improve world relations
4) To provide a mighty example (of empowerment).
